Abstract
The purpose of this project is to research the impact of e-business on today’s information technology department in terms of its requirements under the new global environment settings. First, the different types of e-business and their functions will be examined. Second, the requirements of the traditional data processing department in a “brick and mortar” business model environment are presented. Last, the requirements of today’s information technology department to support a successful ebusiness in this information environment era will be studied.
