Abstract

Influenced by the resource-based view (RBV), we examined the understudied relationship between IT capability and organizational performance for small Dutch Not-For-Profit organizations (NFPs). We conceptualized IT capability as four separate IT competencies: IT alignment, technical, relational and employee IT competence and used survey data collected from 112 respond-ents. Our results show that IT alignment, relational and employee IT competence impact organizational performance positively. On the contrary, technical IT competence has negative impact on organizational performance. Our study provides preliminary empirical evidence to better under-stand the relation between IT capability and organizational performance of NFPs.
