Research on the adoption and diffusion of information technology has improved our understanding of how IT is utilized by individuals, groups, and organizations and its positive and negative consequences. As a result, we have a rich understanding of relevant topics such as digital innovation, digital business models, and IT implementation, to name a few. With the accelerating pace of digital transformation permeating organizations and societies, and the fundamental role of information systems in it, there is still much to learn about the diffusion and adoption of IT.
