Organizations today operate in turbulent environments characterized by rapid technological and market disruptions. To remain competitive, they must cultivate organizational agility by effectively leveraging and continually advancing their digital capabilities. Emerging technologies—such as generative AI, autonomous agents, digital twins, extended reality, quantum computing, and edge AI—are redefining how firms build digital capability and achieve organizational agility. The relationship between digital capability and organizational agility is dynamic. Digital capabilities, on one hand, enable organizational agility by streamlining operations, enhancing decision-making, and creating opportunities for strategic innovation. On the other hand, the rapid evolution of these technologies—especially AI—demands organizational agility, as organizations must quickly adjust strategies, processes, and workforce practices to effectively develop, adopt, and govern them.
