Abstract
Although Business Intelligence (BI) has attracted remarkable attention from enterprises as a facilitator of decision making processes, its implementations have encountered difficulties and have not shown successful results. One primary reason for this failure can be the paucity of comprehensive knowledge regarding BI Critical Success Factors (CSFs). In response, this research seeks to create a deep comprehension of CSFs in the BI implementation domain. Firstly, a holistic set of CSFs based on extensive literature review and expert opinions is extracted. Then, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used in order to prioritize and determine the most significant criteria. The empirical work illustrates that Top Management Support, Clearly Defined Business Needs and Goals, and User Participation and Support play the most prominent roles in the BI successful implementation. The result of this study can help organizations to allocate their scarce resources based on the weight/importance of indicators and consequently, accomplish better results.
