Abstract
Preparation for class is an essential component to the success of a student in the classroom. However, we all know that many students are not as prepared for class as they should be. In this TREO Talk we discuss a study that introduced cold-calling into an existing course and an attempt to assess the impact of cold-calling on student learning and student satisfaction. The course is one of the most challenging courses in the program and the typical grade distributions for this course has been very consistent over the years. We expected that cold-calling would have a positive impact on student learning. We also expected that cold-calling would have a positive impact on student satisfaction.
