Description
This study examines the complementarities among information technology (IT) management and human resources (HR) management capabilities by assessing their impact on organizational performance. We also study the complementarity between IT management and two specific HR components: work systems and employee learning. Our findings suggest complementarities among HR management and IT management capabilities. We also find that among two HR components, effective work systems such as employee performance management systems and effective hiring and promotion systems more strongly moderate the effect of IT management on organizational performance, compared to employee learning and education.
