Description

The digital transformation is impacting the way people work in the future. Employees have to cope with a rising number of tools of a digital workplace requiring new adoption models and instruments. Digital nudging offers a new way of guiding and motivating users. This promising way of influencing user adoption can improve the user experience, but it can as well turn into an unwanted rejection if the nudge is too intense and the user feels coerced rather than supported. In our short paper, we introduce a study based on a quantitative survey at a global European manufacturing company with almost 100,000 employees. We present our research model with hypotheses and their operationalized constructs. A pre-test and first responses from the survey show good reliability values. With these first results, we outline our future steps and encourage scholars to discuss the research model and the underlying digital nudging theory.
