This study aims to identify the main aspects considered in contracting of cloud in government. In this sense, a review of the literature on cloud computing (CC) made, citing the adoption, use and contracting process, and CC is addressed in government. In sequence, was investigated the case study of the Information Technology Secretariat (STI) of the Ministry of Planning of the Brazilian government through the collection of secondary data. In the analysis of the data emerged the categories for explanation of the phenomenon: contracting of CC, risks and benefits. Concluded in the case investigated that the government is in an embryonic stage in the implementation of this technology and will have to face great challenges. Contribute with this research to the advances of CC studies specifically in the governmental implementations and suggest future studies with primary data in this same subject.
