Description
While the benefits of EMRs are apparent to many clinicians and information systems professionals, studies have yielded inconsistent results when measuring the impact of EMRs on organizational performance outcomes. This study provides support for the impact of increased use of EMR systems by physicians in hospitals on process of care measures and for risk as a moderator of this effect. The study uses data from the HIMSS Dorenfest database as well as the CMS Hospital Compare dataset.
