Abstract

This paper demonstrates how the adoption of ‘systemic interpretation’ approach through the complementary use of SISTeM and ‘Generative Systemic Metaphor’ enriches the authors’ systemic inquiring and learning process of information systems planning and development. It is argued that the in-depth problem situation understanding obtained from the thorough systemic investigation using such approach allows for better addressing of soft complexity existing in multi-agency sociotechnical information systems situation.
