Abstract
Increasingly, P2P networks are being used to facilitate adhoc collaborations, which often involve members who have never met. Due to the distributed nature of P2P, managing trust is a challenge. Prior research has focused on solutions that rely upon the feedback from other peers to assign reputation and trust. We offer a trust model where trust management is totally distributed, with each node maintaining its trust data locally. The model and a variety of algorithms were simulated to evaluate the effectiveness of the trust model.
