Abstract
The success of the ERP systems is an important issue in the scientific literature of the area. Nevertheless, and as a result of its newness, mainly the investigation of the phenomenon has been of type descriptive or it has been oriented to qualitative methodologies. In this work we presented an explanatory model of the phenomenon and its empirical validation in a set of Chilean organizations. The results identified significant relationships between a set of explanatory factors and diverse dimensions of the system success. In specific, this empirical analysis shows that information technologies skills, ERP training, learning and change readiness are antecedents of ERP success.
