Abstract
Knowledge-Based Systems (KBS) are being developed and used in many business applications. 430 papers published in information systems and management science journals between the years 1970-1995. Our findings indicate that the most researched topics deal with languages, tools and architecture needed to develop a KBS. However, issues relating to the management, implementation and impact of KBS in organizations are sparsely investigated.
