Abstract
My research focus is on evaluating leadership style as expressed by IT professionals and IT consultants in moving organisations through significant IT-related change. It appears that a specific style of leadership is required to successfully master significant change. This paper presents background to the research problem, describes a conceptual model linking theory from IS Research, Social Psychology, and Organisational Behaviour and discusses the research currently being undertaken to test of one key aspect of the proposed model: the implicit expectations of leadership as held by senior managers and executives
