Abstract

This study provides a theoretical and empirical analysis to explain factors influencing the elder persons’ adoption of mobile healthcare devices. The proposed model was extended from two wellknown intention-based theories: the theory of reasoned action and the technology acceptance model. Other individual differences and technological characteristics factors were integrated. As a result, the proposed model accounted for 67% high of the variance explained in behavioral intention, thus providing researchers and practitioners with an in-depth understanding of the introduction of new healthcare technology devices.
