Abstract
This paper describes the use of content analysis and correspondence analysis in respect of case study research performed by the author in the field of strategic information systems planning. During the collection of data from the firms participating in the case study research the author collected in excess of 200 pages of text. It was necessary to analyse and summarize the data in order to see what general principles relating to the formulation and implementation of a strategic information system could be derived. The main process adopted for this analysis and synthesis was content analysis. Correspondence analysis was then applied in order to help corroborate the findings of the content analysis.
