More and more organizations purchase software "Enterprise Resources Planning" (ERP). Their implementation affects the information system but also the procedure of management in the organization. Such evolution needs thinkingÿ: objectives, budgets and planning must be defined. The object of this article is to relate the experience of a society (the "Autoroute du Sud de la France, ASF") in the implementation of an ERP (SAP-R/3). First, we sought to understand the context in which SAP-R/3 has been implemented. Between the first consideration on the future system and its implementation, there are four years. The second part of this article describes the major stages during these four years. Since 7th January 1999, ASF has been working with SAP-R/3.
