Description
Many healthcare research literatures discussed factors that impact physician’s participation in the quality improvement activities and participation of CMS’ Meaningful Use (MU) incentive program, such as financial, organizational, procedural, and policy level. However, it hasn’t been fully explored and investigated on how the medical resident training impacts on the continuous EHR adoption, quality improvement and participation of MU incentive program. This paper will attempt to explore the relationship between physician’s medical training and their MU participation through using the publicly available data set called “EHR incentive paid” on CMS site and pediatrician’s initial board certification exam data file. The study shown that there have been strong positive relationships between pediatrician’s initial board certification exam scores and pediatrician’s likelihood of participation in MU incentive program.
