Description
The rise in connectivity has increased the number of conflicts because of technology-mediated interruptions, especially by mobile technologies, such as mobile phones. Sometimes the individual is interrupted at home with a contact from work, or the other way around: he's interrupted at work with a contact from home, decreasing performance and causing conflicts in both cases. In this context, this paper aims to study the effects of interruptions mediated by technology on Brazilian professionals at work and outside of work, in addition to the potential conflicts arising from these relationships. To this end, a survey was conducted with 116 professionals of the fields of Management and Accounting. We observed that the frequency of interruptions mediated by technology, originating from different domains, was related to conflicts in their respective domains. The data was analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling with the software SmathPLS.
