Abstract
As digital privacy becomes a defining challenge of our era, this panel unites thought leaders shaping the first graduate-level curricular guidelines for privacy education. Drawing on academic research, global standards, and real-world implementation, panelists will debate how best to prepare students for a fast-evolving landscape shaped by regulation and individual expectations. The session will highlight differing viewpoints on whether education should prioritize compliance, innovation, or ethical practice, offering insights into emerging curricular frameworks, teaching challenges, and workforce alignment. With divergent perspectives - from academic program development and international standards to applied privacy engineering - this session invites the AMCIS community to critically engage with the future of privacy education and contribute to a globally coordinated initiative that aims to redefine how we teach, apply, and lead in digital privacy. Following AMCIS, interested attendees will be invited to join one of the Working Groups shaping the guideline, contributing to a global privacy education framework.
