Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyse a new phenomenon, Information Technology - Outsourcing (ITO), in two european countries : France and Germany. A mail-survey by 160 big german and french firms shows differences in ITO's practices of the firms of the two countries. Forty five per cent of the sample's firms outsourced (or are going to do it) Information-Technology. German firms don't outsource more easily than french firms. But they prefer to accompany ITO with a share in the assets of the IT's company. Furthermore ITO with decrease of employees are more numerous in France than in Germany.
