Description
As businesses increasingly embrace Digital Transformation (DT) to redefine their strategic directions, the potential to leverage this shift for advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives remains underexplored. While DT is celebrated for improving operational efficiency and competitive advantage, its role in promoting sustainable development has not been fully realized. Enterprise Architecture (EA), with its capacity to align processes, systems, and technologies, plays a critical but often overlooked role in integrating DT with sustainability goals. Despite growing sustainability research, significant gaps remain in understanding how EA, DT, and ESG intersect. Most studies treat these areas separately, missing their synergy. This research explores the integration of EA with DT to support ESG outcomes, introducing the EA-Enabled Sustainable Digital Transformation model. Grounded in resource-based and dynamic capabilities theories, the study identifies eight sustainable DT practices across strategic, tactical, and operational levels, offering organizations a roadmap to improve ESG performance and sustainability.
