Description
Online knowledge communities enable individuals to search, comment and provide knowledge information or products. However, users' negative participation behaviors, such as lurking in the community, would only lead to the consumption of information without any benefits to others. To leverage the vitality of online knowledge communities, managers should encourage passive users and arouse their awareness of interacting and collaborating with others. Previous studies have shown that value co-creation behavior and value co-destruction behavior of users in online knowledge communities have profound impacts on the sustainable development of the communities. We attempt to explore users' knowledge co-creation and co-destruction behavior and identify the influencing factors. Therefore, this study applies qualitative research methodology with three-level coding of 49 interview materials. The findings of this study are intended to give new insights for researchers and practitioners.
