Description
This research introduces a novel Data Analytics Capability Maturity Model (DACMM) tailored specifically for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Unlike existing models, the DACMM was developed using the Action Design Research (ADR) methodology, grounded in teleological organizational change theory. Refined through five Build, Intervention, and Evaluation cycles with two real-world organizations, it offers a prescriptive framework with comprehensive dimensions, subdimensions, and elements tailored for SMEs. The DACMM provides clear, actionable steps for enhancing data analytics maturity, including a new self-assessment scoring method, a resource-based self-ranking tool, and a systematic approach to tracking progress. Additionally, it conceptualizes five early design concepts for creating domain-specific CMMs across various industries, with these concepts poised for future refinement and validation into design principles.
