Abstract
This study investigates platform-mediated learning during the resource mobilization process for early-stage ventures. Utilizing a dataset from a Chinese online platform that connects entrepreneurs with investors, we examine the impact of business plan revisions on fundraising success. Our results indicate that entrepreneurs who update their business plans based on investor interactions are more likely to secure funding, particularly those with limited startup experience. By exploring the types of knowledge accumulated through these revisions, we identify key learning processes that enhance entrepreneurial outcomes. The study also refines the theoretical framework by grounding hypotheses in the entrepreneurial agency perspective and aligning them with relevant literature. This research contributes to both information systems and entrepreneurship by demonstrating how digital platforms facilitate adaptive learning that improves resource mobilization outcomes.
