Description
The year 2020 will be remembered as the year that global citizens were plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also a year during which we witnessed the massive mobilization of national resources to tackle the pandemic. This research qualitatively examines Singapore’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic that unprecedently brought the nation to a standstill in its social and economic activities. Anchoring on the theory of resourcing, we preliminarily identified four resourcing actions taken by the government, including (1) resourcing through multi-stakeholder coordination, (2) digital media-enabled empowerment, (3) introspection and reimagination of potential resources, and (4) dynamic resourcing. Potential contributions to the literature are discussed.
