Description

Constant change is a hallmark of the phenomena we study. Further, the phenomena we study often occur on widely different time scales. Unfortunately, our methods are often limited to a narrow range of time scales, or we overlook temporality and change altogether. So in this panel, we will invite the audience to reconsider the role of time in information system systems research. We will illustrate the issues with high frequency trading as an example. We will engage the audience in a discussion of two key questions: How can our methods more effectively incorporate temporality and change? How can we create findings that have lasting value when phenomena are always changing?
