Abstract
This paper introduces the design knowledge knot, a novel framework designed to enhance the practical impact of design science research (DSR). Addressing the persistent gap between theoretical constructs and practical applications, this framework integrates knowledge flows, pathways, and transfer strategies within a cohesive structure to ensure actionable outcomes. By synthesizing input from extensive DSR expert consultations and comprehensive literature reviews, the design knowledge knot provides strategic guidance for researchers aiming to improve the relevance and applicability of their work. Unlike traditional DSR models, this framework emphasizes dynamic integration of stakeholder insights and offers flexible pathways to adapt research processes to real-world needs. It encourages a more engaged approach to research, fostering significant advancements in both theory and practice. This framework not only advances the methodological foundations of DSR, but also serves as a bridge to enhance its practical impact across various disciplines.
