Abstract
Digital supply chains rely on tightly integrated information systems that improve coordination and resilience but also increase cybersecurity vulnerability. This study examines how cybersecurity incidents affect operational recovery performance and how these effects depend on firms’ pre-incident recovery structure and cybersecurity governance. We define Cyber-Structural Misalignment as a condition in which digital connectivity exceeds governance capacity to manage cyber risk. We argue that cyber incidents weaken operational recovery, that redundancy and digital integration can amplify this effect, and that strong cybersecurity governance mitigates disruption and supports recovery.
