Abstract
The twin transition in logistics and ports is a priority worldwide, requiring synergies between smart and green investments. However, solutions to guide this global movement do not yet explore the (1) full potential of its integrated governance, and (2) combination of different stakeholders’ needs in logistic networks, as happens in seaport-dry port interoperability. This paper presents the SmartGreenGovernance maturity model. It was created as part of a large European project to support the deployment of smart and green ports. SmartGreenGovernance structure includes 5 dimensions, 16 sub-dimensions, and 115 practices. The instantiation was conducted with a pilot study in a dry port. For practice, we offer a new tool to diagnose smart and green ports and develop an improvement roadmap. For theory, we propose a model that integrates sustainable and digital practices, tailored to port stakeholders who now need to exchange large volumes of data to improve operations and sustainability.
