Abstract
Professional networking is a critical component of career advancement, offering access to opportunities, mentorship, and professional growth. As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into various aspects of business and personal life, this paper looks into its potential to enhance professional networking. Through semi-structured interviews with professionals from diverse industries, this research investigates current networking practices, the perceived benefits and drawbacks of AI in networking, and how individuals believe AI could influence their professional relationships. The study reveals that while all participants acknowledge the importance of networking, each expressed frustrations with certain aspects of the process. There is a strong consensus that AI could significantly improve networking by automating routine tasks, enhancing communication, and expanding one's network reach. Participants highlighted concerns about the risk of diminishing personal touch and privacy concerns. AI has the potential to enable professionals to forge meaningful connections and achieve greater career success.
