Abstract

This research aims to identify dominant AI discourses and develop scenarios mapping a blueprint of the emerging AI-centered social order. Media frames AI between the dichotomy of technological utopia and impending dystopia. Political or economic power influences the creation of dominant media discourses which in turn impact public perceptions and political action. Thus, dominant discourses provide signals on underlying power structures. Through the lens of Foucault’s power-knowledge nexus, the research aims to identify probable design(s) of an AI-enabled society and its variations across geographies. A window into probable future(s) will illuminate where the society is headed and inspire political intervention.

An investigation of AI discourses: A window into the future of an AI-enabled society
