What is the effect of intelligent technologies (IT) on culture? On the one hand, enterprise information systems (EIS) tend to standardize work procedures, and therefore neglect national cultures. The use of AI, especially generative AI reinforces this trend, especially through data mining or process mining. But, on the other hand, social media allows customization that has the reverse effect of the “visibility” created by EIS and top-down corporate governance. They tend to create an “opacity” through “groups” on social media such as WeChat in China. The paradoxical consequence is that social media are more used for management than EIS in Chinese companies. However, does the customization allowed by IT lead to psychological models that once again neglect national culture? And does the personalization allowed by IT work against corporate culture by reinforcing individualization? Beyond the distinction between national and corporate culture, do intelligent technologies tend to promote the emergence of a “digital culture” like in the generation theory, as suggested by the word “millennium”? This track welcomes contributions that question the link between culture, intelligent technologies, and a better future. Especially, how can intelligent technologies contribute to a better future through the different levels of national, corporate, or digital culture?
