Abstract

Hackathons are gaining recognition as a tool for experiential learning, fostering problem-solving and collaboration. Generative AI transforms education by enabling knowledge augmentation, yet its role in structured competency development remains underexplored. This study investigates how Hackathons can enhance social entrepreneurship through Generative AI and Prompt Engineering. An empirical study design integrates a structured Hackathon with Prompt Engineering as an instructional intervention. Pre- and post-Hackathon assessments, solution evaluations, and qualitative reflections will examine competency development. A mixed-methods analysis will assess how Prompt Engineering influences students’ critical engagement with AI in social entrepreneurship problem-solving. Findings will provide insights for integrating AI-supported experiential learning into curricula. This study contributes to discussions on AI-enhanced learning and competency-based social entrepreneurship education.
