Abstract

This study investigates the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) maturity on firm-level outcomes, specifically focusing on innovation, social responsibility, customer satisfaction, and financial performance, through the lens of Resource-Advantage (R-A) Theory. Using a data sample from Fortune-500 firms, we derive and test five key hypotheses. The findings reveal that technology companies exhibit greater AI maturity compared to their non-technology counterparts. Furthermore, a positive relationship is observed between AI maturity and innovation, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes, while the relationship with social responsibility is weakly supported at an alpha level of 0.10. These results underscore the strategic importance of AI maturity as a critical resource for enhancing firm performance and achieving competitive advantages. The study offers theoretical insights about cultivating AI maturity as a strategic resource and a differentiator, in addition to providing practical insights for organizations seeking to leverage AI technologies effectively.
