Abstract

The widespread discourse around the impact of Generative AI (GenAI) on the job market has induced divergent opinions and emotions. Building on the theory of Emotions as Social Information (EASI), we seek to explore innovation-induced emotions (fear and curiosity) and examine observers' differential behavioral responses to such emotions embedded in social media discourse. We also investigate the adaptive dynamics of these emotions’ influence on observers’ information-sharing behaviors. This study intends to illustrate how individuals react to social media information characterized by fear and curiosity within the rapidly evolving landscape of GenAI technology.
