Description

Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics in cloud is an emerging trend in cloud computing. Cloud based BI and analytics solutions provide cost-effectiveness, reliability, a multi-tenant environment, scalability and elasticity. With the global acceptance of BI and analytics in cloud, the security threats have increased significantly in recent years. This has become a major issue for businesses opting for cloud services as their analysis platform. To address this concern, we propose a conceptual framework for cloud based BI and analytics. The framework takes advantage of cloud services at each layer of implementation, allowing businesses to use big data for their analysis without installing and maintaining the physical environment. We then focus on the security issues pertaining to cloud based BI and Analytics by identifying security risks at every level of the proposed framework and providing their possible solutions.
