Towards Understanding of Knowledge Sharing among Small Businesses in Australia: Development of a Research Model

Abstract

This paper develops a model of knowledge sharing among small businesses, which is primarily built on Lipshitz et al.’s (2001) naturalistic decision modelling (NDM) approach, Rogers’ (1995) innovation diffusion theory, and Ajzen & Fishbein’s (1980) theory of reasoned action (TRA). It presents various factors and variables in detail. Hypotheses are developed which can be tested via empirical study. The proposed model has both theoretical and practical implications. It can be adapted for application in small businesses in Australia and other countries.
