Abstract

Previous research and our own research have led us to formulate 27 decision-making factors. Afterwards, we tested them according to some IS Outsourcing aspects: - The global or partial area concerned, - The specifications of each operation (software development and maintenance, infrastructures and facilities management). In addition to our examination of the dedicated literature, we have studied 94 operations carried out in French and European companies. Our data came in equal quantities from three categories of actors: top managers, IS managers, IS providers. The analysis of the results lead us to propose a stronger conceptual framework in order to understand and study the different IS Outsourcing operations.
