Turnover in a group E Hospitalar Centre: Visualization and information analysis to support management

Abstract

The current economic crisis brought up cost containment, disinvestment in health care and major changes in hospital organizational management models, resulting in intra and interorganizational changes that brought demotivation of employees. Considering the complexity of hospital management, the analysis indicators becomes an indispensable tool. As the turnover rate is one of the indicators used to explain the increase in the cost of labor caused by the excessive movement of human resources - exits and admissions, a data analysis was performed in a group E Hospitalar Center, referring to the years 2014, 2015 and the first half of 2016. The results suggest a turnover rate that can be classified as acceptable, if used the similar studies methodology. Analyzing the professional group of Operational Assistants data, it might be useful to acquire information upon leaving, supporting new hiring’s, to enhance the quality and efficiency of the provided services.
