Abstract

Companies today are concerned with the escalating costs for employee healthcare. Some companies are self-insured health insurance while others are contracting with conventional health insurance. Costs can be controlled by improving the overall health of their employees. Many are using wellness programs as the means for improving the overall employee health and heath risk assessments (HRA) are an inherent part. Since 2008, a hospital-based Wellness Program collected HRAs and other pertinent information. The majority of data was collected as part of community outreach programs and in employer sponsored programs. For the first two years data was collected non-electronically thereafter collected with an Internet-based system using the same HRA questionnaire. This paper describes a preliminary study on the quality of HRA data.
