Abstract

Existing research on information quality (IQ) within different fields results in a variety of IQ assessment methodologies. Information exchange spans the organizations, business processes, and technologies in different information formats such as digital data, written and verbal communication. However, most IQ studies aim at the data repository level only, meanwhile, IQ assessment for information exchange receives very little attention. To address this issue, we propose an assessment technique to evaluate the quality of information presented in different kinds of patterns, particularly for the information exchange in the inter-organizational context. The preliminary results are validated by means of interviews and group discussion. A case application on emergency medical service (EMS) is presented.
