Abstract

To support the exploding business-tobusiness e-commerce across different platforms, MicroSoft proposed the BizTalk Initiatives in March 1999. The objective of this paper is to examine BizTalk, Microsoft's Business-to- Business E-Commerce Strategy. Examples of the three main components of Biztalk, including the BizTalk Framework, the BizTalk.org community and repository of published schemas, and Microsoft’s BizTalk server will be presented. BizTalk framework is based on XML. BizTalk enables application integration over the Internet. However, some see BizTalk as Microsoft's attempt to control the e-commerce platform.
